Find Cheap College Books & Textbook Prices at GetCheapBooks.com
GetCheapBooks.com was founded to provide college students a way to find cheap textbooks without spending a lot of time doing it. We are a leading online price comparison shopping site for undergraduate and graduate school books (including medical, legal, business, professional, and technical) as well as a broad range of cross-referenced personal interest, rare, and even and out-of-print titles.
We set out to be easy to use and customer driven since the site's inception in 1998. GetCheapBooks.com accepts no vendor sponsorships (i.e. no "paid placement" or "paid position") assuring the end-user the best textbook prices for new and used college books and textbooks. In 2004, GetCheapBooks.com expanded to become a one-stop comparison shopping source for music, DVDs, and video games, as well as cheap college books.
Founder Jonathan Miller describes the inspiring moment behind GetCheapBooks.com:
"I sat there and thought, ‘There has to be an easier way to find cheap textbooks!!' I have 4 web browser windows open from online book vendors trying to find my textbooks for winter quarter at Northwestern University. The dorm room door opens and in walks my roommate, covered in snow, having waited 20 minutes for the Siberian express (the Northwestern shuttle which does campus runs when the temperature is below zero degrees) ‘I just spent $200 on books for this quarter and I still have to go back for a book that was out of stock!' he grumbled.”
Dedicated to helping students and other internet users save time, save money and find cheap textbooks, GetCheapBooks.com searches the internet daily comparing over 4 million new and used textbook prices and aggregates the data into a user-friendly, easy-to-read grid that can be sorted by price, availability, shipping costs/times, and new and used book condition.
Unique to GetCheapBooks.com are features such as:
- Price Watcher: notifies the user when the textbook price drops
- Your List: find lowest total price for several books or the best price at a single vendor
- Wish List and RSS: searchable by other users or easily included in blogs
